TA DA!!!!!

THE BEGINNING: This is a picture of the remains of our kitchen. Out with the old and in with the new!

Say goodbye to our lovely rose handles!

IN THE WORKS: As you can see, the counter tops are in, but at this point we were still waiting for the faucet to be put in. The old brown tile was removed from above our sink, thank goodness.

It was a long week without our kitchen. I used the remodeling excuse not to cook all week. I was surprised at how sick of eating out I got, and how much I actually missed cooking! Who would have thought?

THE FINAL PRODUCT: YAY! Our kitchen is finally done! We have new counter tops, cupboards, sink, microwave and a new paint job! Mike and I are very lucky to have a generous landlord. Yay for Eitan!

There is nothing like walking into the kitchen and having it clean and new! I love the smell, and the feel of the new kitchen!

GUILTY PLEASURES

My friend Sarah challenged our group of friends to post our top ten guilty pleasures. I thought this was a fun idea. Sorry, Sarah mine isn't as elaborate as your with pictures, but I liked the idea. In no particular order here are my top ten guilty pleasures:

1. Sleeping in: Anytime I can sleep in, I totally take advantage.
2. BLOGGING: I love to post, but I especially love reading other peoples' blog. Such a pathetic life!
3. American Idol: What can I say, I'm totally addicted. Not only do I watch, but I totally call in to vote for my favorites.
4. Weather Channel: I love the weather. I think in my next life I would like to be a meteorologist.
5. Swedish Fish: Love them, can't get enough of them.
6. New running shoes: There is nothing better than putting on new running shoes and going for a great run.
7. Talking on the phone in my car: I know, I know, talking on the phone while driving is dangerous but it's the perfect time to make my phone calls. Kill two birds with one stone!
8. My new red patent leather peep toe pumps: Did I need new shoes? No. But I couldn't resist, they are so adorable and for once I wanted to buy shoes that weren't from Payless or Target!
9. Yahtzee: OK love this game. It's a Sunday night ritual for Mike and I to play this game. We are such dorks but I get so excited to play this game. Let's all admit it, getting a Yahtzee is always exciting!
10. Neil Diamond: Yes I love him and his music. Yes I own one of his CD's and yes I have it currently in my CD player in my car.

If you haven't already written your top ten guilty pleasures, please take the time to do so. If you would refer back to my number 2 guilty pleasure, I enjoy reading blogs, so I will look forward to reading your top ten guilty pleasures.

A Remarkable Story

When I make the time, one of my favorite hobbies is reading. I recently finished an incredible book called, The Glass Castle. Reading this book made me realize my life isn't as bad as I like to believe it is. Although the story is slightly depressing, Jeannette Walls as a way of captivating her audience, and turning her life story into a work of art. I highly suggest taking the time to read this book! Anyone have suggestions of a good book I should read next?

One of the things I miss most about living in Utah is running with my mom. It was so great to be able to run with my mom on our vacation. My niece Posey wanted to come too. For a six year old, she has good endurance, she lasted about 5 minutes and decided she was done. Don't worry, you don't have to tell me how great we look in our running clothes, I already know.

I was able to spend time with my new niece and nephew while visiting in CT. Grace is on the left, she is almost six months old, and is Katherine's first baby! Everett is on the right and just turned three months old, he is Amanda's third child. I know I am totally biased but I think they are so cute.

A trip with my girls!

This past week my mom, sisters in UT, and I flew to see my oldest sister Amanda and her family who live in Manchester, CT. It was so much fun to be with my sisters and mom.

Poor Mikey

It's just past 9:00 pm and Mike is fast asleep and already snoring. Mike is currently in his third year of medical school and is completing his surgery rotation. This has been a killer of a rotation. His average work day is at least 12 hours and he is constantly exhausted. Regardless of being fatigued he has seem some incredible things working in the operating room. I know what you're thinking, is it really like what we see on TV? Sorry to disappoint everyone but shows like ER, Grey's anatomy, and House don't quite capture what a hospital is really like, remember it's TV not reality.
