Take me out to the ball game

We finally made it back to Chicago! It's been a long, hard week, but we are finally adjusting to being back home. Mike's brother-in-law was intown, so we all decided to go to a Cub's game. It was my first time at Wrigley field. The atmosphere of that field is intense. Cub fans are solid fans through and through. We had a great time at the game! So CUBS!

I think it was the hottest night we've ever had since living in Chicago. The humidty was ruthless. I'm not kidding, I've never sweat so much. You can probably see the sweat glistening on our faces! But it was definitely worth it. Mike and I thought we were stylin in our Chicago Cub baseball gear.

Regardless of the intense heat, we still had a great time. The best part was, the cubs actually won the game! Way to go CUBS!

Let down

Ok I just finished reading this book by Stephenie Meyer. I totally followed the trend of reading these addictive vampire love stories, just like everyone else in Utah. (Which by the way, I had to buy the book when I was visiting in Chicago because it was sold out everywhere in Salt Lake. No joke) Eclipse is the third book out of the series. I'm sad to admit I was slightly disappointed when I finished. If anyone else had finished reading this book please share your thoughts and comments!!!! I'm dying to know what other people have thought. Also, if you are reading this post please let me know what current book you are reading. I'm always looking for something new to read. Any suggestions?

BON VOYAGE!

Who would have thought that so many of us, from our group of friends, would move outside of Utah? This is probably lame, but I think it's interesting that so many of us are spread across the country. I have friends coast to coast: from Washington D.C. to California. It's always so exciting to hear everyone's different stories and life experiences. It's crazy to be at the age where many of our friends are traveling the world, having babies, going to grad school, buying/building houses, have graduated from college and are well on their way in their careers...etc.

I have to say I'm very lucky to have the friends that I do. You have all accomplished so much already in your lives. You inspire me and bring out the best in me.

Allison is now on her way with her sweet family to California! I wish you the best of luck! It was so great seeing you on Saturday!
PS: Sorry, Sarah, your eyes were closed in both pictures. This was the better of the two. :)

WELCOME HOME!

WELCOME HOME STEVE AND CAROL! We are so glad you finally made it to the SLC! We know the people of Germany will miss you greatly, but we are so happy to have you back!

BABIES, BABIES, BABIES

Something is in the water in the SLC, because most of my friends living there have babies, or are expecting a baby soon! We had a baby shower for our beautiful friend LACEY! She is having a baby the end of September, and she is seriously one of the cutest pregnant girls I have ever seen. She is going to be a great mom.
She got lots of wonderful gifts!
It was such a treat to have Farner in town!

Two pretty girls in white. (They are not really a couple, although they are posing like one)
It was great to see so many friends from high school, but we missed all of our beautiful friends spread across the country who couldn't make it. Thanks to all the girls who could come! It was great to see you!

Mother Nature was calling

My mom and I decided to go hiking. We wanted to hike to Cecret Lake (the spelling is actually correct) but ran into this:So we decided to hike Catherine Pass instead. This is what the trail looked like as we
began hiking: By the end of the hike, this is what we saw:

It's too bad the photographs don't capture the true beauty of the scenery we saw.
