Sweet Sister

Happy Birthday my sweet sister Amanda! Thanks for being a great sister and friend. Just a few reasons why I think you are so great....

1. You are an amazing mom and have the most adorable children.

2. You have perfect white teeth and perfect skin.  Something I've always been jealous of.   3. You have a garden full of fresh fruits and vegetables.  4.  You quilt and sew.  Really you should have been born in the 1800's, but I'm so glad you weren't.
5. You are a wonderful listener, friend and confidant to all of us sisters.
6. I love our weekly phone call after the office.

7. You are Terry are still so whooped over each other.  You took such good care of him when he had to have his killer surgery.    8. You are an example of faith.

9.  You love birds.  10. We can talk and not talk for hours. (Best in Show reference)
I'm so glad we've grown so close over the years.  I love you Mandy!
Happy (d0 I dare say) early 30's!!!

Fall has arrived

You know it's fall when.....

You're busy going to football games...

and the state fair.
(Check out the awesome pig I won from a simple dart game.)

You know it's fall when....
You actually buy candy corn and enjoy it.
Let's be honest does anyone really buy candy corn any other time of year?

You know it's fall when...

your fruit trees can no longer hold the fruit they bare.

(This is just 3 out of the 5 fruit trees that occupy our yard. You can imagine how many fruit flies we have.)

You know it's fall when...
beautiful new fall colors are appearing in clothing stores:

Ahhh Fall I'm so happy you're here!
Don't you love the crispness of the air?

A little funny

I couldn't resist...I thought this was too funny.

The shirt says, "This is what PERFECT looks like."   The best part is, the shirt is on backwards. Gotta love second graders.

End of racing season

I feel like I need to preface this post with an apology...another running post.   Let's be honest my life just isn't exciting.  This will be the last running post for awhile since it's the end of racing season for me.  I don't have another race scheduled until November, so I decided to go big and enjoy a few last minute races the past three weekends.
First: Swiss Days 10k with my friend Lauren, her sister and sister in law.  The race took place in Midway, Utah which absolutely beautiful. The weather was cool and the course was a nice mix of hills and flats.  Thanks Lauren for letting me tag along with you guys.

I felt lucky to be running with these speedsters.
They are all Boston Marathon runners and in amazing shape!

SECOND: The next weekend was the Huntsville Half Marathon.  My cousin Annie and I had signed up for the race beginning of August. The week of the race we went back and forth trying to decide whether or not to run this race. We didn't feel prepared and weren't sure we wanted to make the trek up to Huntsville to run. Our competitive side won and we decided the day before the race to just do it!
I'm so glad we ended up running the half marathon. It didn't end up being a PR but we had a great time talking and catching up with one another.  Love my cousin Annie.

THIRD: The following Saturday (yesterday) my friends and I decided to do the Utah Marathon relay. It was fantastic.  As a team we ran a total of 26.2 miles (marathon distance) but only had to run a 1/5 of the distance.  Which meant I got to hang out with my friends all morning long.  My friends never cease to impress. They are busy with kids, school, and work but make time to run.  Unfortunately we were never all together as a team. Here's the crew:
Lauren, Lindsey, me, Megan

Mary, Lauren, me and Lindsey.
We had good times filled with many laughs. It's been so nice have friends to run with.  Thanks girls!

Special shout out to Mike. Thanks for being so supportive and understanding as I've spent the past few weekends getting up early and being gone for a good part of the day.  You're the best.

So....who's up for a half marathon in November???? Let me know....

Do you ever feel this way?

This is how I'm feeling these days.
I can barely keep my head above water with all I have to do!
Please tell me once in awhile you feel this way too.
