Fall has hit Chicago. This past week has brought cool,
crisp, weather and nice breezes. Even though the leaves haven't changed color yet, fall is definitely in the air. We decided we needed to take advantage of this wonderful time of year. What better way to celebrate fall, than to go
APPLE PICKING?
The adventure began with an authentic hayride to the apple orchard.
Each person was given a bag that would hold a peck of apples.
The apple picking began. Did you know you aren't supposed to pull down to get the apple off the tree? There is a method to this apple picking: LIFT AND TWIST!
Once of the best parts of the day was the fact that you could eat as many apples as you wanted as long as you were in the orchard. Mike thoroughly enjoyed this aspect of the apple picking.
With all the apples we picked, we made Apple Crisp. It may not look
appetizing, but it sure tasted delicious! Don't worry Mike and I finished off the pan in two days.

Wasn't it like 90 degrees last week? The weather is so crazy! The apple picking looks so fun and festive. I LOVE fall!
PS To answer you question-Yes Mike did play soccer for BYU.
oh lar that looks like so much fun and so festive. seriously fall is my favorite time of year isn't it the best! and i love apple crisp, and i bet it was amazing with fresh picked apples. oh and ps i am so sorry i haven't called you. you were so nice to call me and i haven't even called you back i am such a jerk. sorry i will call you asap.
oh fun. Something about apples and making apple crisp just solidifies the fact that it is truly autumn. You guys, must say, have some self restraint talent if your apple crisp lasted that long. ours lasted a night. No wonder why lb's are packing on.
I'll remember the life and twist thing from now on!
yummy, that looks good. i made some sunday night too - but it was just ok. i sometimes think that i can just cook/bake things without a recipe, but i probably should have followed one. oh well, lance ate it and liked it and that is what matters. i love you. i am glad that you are having fun and doing cool things too!
it took you two days to finish. i would have eaten the pan all by myself in one sitting... i want to go apple picking. fun.

I am jealous. I have always wanted to go apple picking. Fall isn't really fall in California. No leaves are even changing.

I love it. I went apple picking for the first time last year and I loved it!
I want to pick apples! They are so much better fresh picked than what you can buy at the store. What a great adventure! I love you and miss you so much . . .
I saw your cute dad at church yesterday. I feel like I see your parent everywhere. It's so fun to get to know them. I don't why I am meeting them 8 years after highschool- but Ill take what I can get.
