Swine Flu Schwine Flu....

Well we've been home from Mexico for almost two weeks.  No worries friends we've had no symptoms of the swine flu. We are as healthy as can be.

However..

Our tans are long gone, Mike has already had 5 overnights shifts at the hospital, school is back in session for me and there are still piles of laundry to be done. It's unfortunate how quickly life gets back to normal.

But for a week in April,  we got to experience a little piece of what I hope heaven is like.

My heaven includes:
Waking up to the sound of waves and seeing beautiful views like this:
and going on 2 hour walks on the beach, exploring caves...
and walking barefoot in the ocean.

Check out the before and after shot.
The ocean was calm and peaceful in picture one then BAM picture 2 shows a splash of unexpected ocean water creeping up higher than I was anticipating.

My heaven also includes having Mike all to myself without any distractions.
No pagers, no laptops, no cell phones, no cable. Just us.
Heaven is playing in the ocean...
and burying in each other in the sand...

Our sand burying started off making nice sand sculptures like mermaids, but turned in deadly shark attacks and bloated turtles.

Heaven is hanging out in downtown San Jose. Enjoying the locals, delicious food,  unique architecture and dirt cheap souvenirs nobody really needs.

Heaven includes going snorkeling in the beautiful blue ocean with a bunch of crazy people who weren't afraid to get up and dance on the boat.

Heaven is walking around Cabo San Lucas, soaking up the sun and slurping slushies from Dairy Queen.
Heaven is reading 3 books in a week, sitting on the beach, and watching beautiful sunsets.
It's eating scrumptious food everyday without worrying about calories, fat and portion size while having someone else wait on you and being with your most favorite person in the world.
It came and went so fast.  I'm so sad it's already over.  I'm ready to go back. Anyone with me?

This is my favorite of all your posts! I felt like I was there. You look lovely as a mermaid! I am so glad you had Mike all to yourself. Don't you think the whole world disappears when you are gone like that? It's wonderful!

Ahh- I love and miss Mehico! Can't wait to go back someday... Aren't the beaches and water AMAZING? It makes California's beaches look like poop.

Wow, how fun. I didn't know you were going. It is so nice that you enjoy each other's company so much. I can count on one hand the "alone" getaways Dave and I have had. That really is a shame since we have been married 29 years. Reading your blog made me want to plan one, and "yes" it would be with Dave.

I miss the beach! All the time! We went to Dominican Republic shortly after we got married and went on this day cruise with crazy people who drank free rum and coke all day and danced freely (sometimes without vital pieces of clothing...) the whole day through. But I can definitely understand and agree with your definitions of HEAVEN!
Glad to know you're doing so well! Congrats on all of your races! You inspire me to run faster and longer!

Lara-

Wow Jimmy and I are jealous!! It looks like you had a wonderful trip to Mexico. We hope to go there someday. How is life in Residency and Teaching? We hope you guys are doing well. I can relate with you when you say Mike is working long late nights. Jimmy has been working hard himself. Is Mike enjoying it? And glad he choose what he did? Jimmy is but he says it is a lot more stessful than he imagined.
Well we hope to see you this summer.
Take care and I hope you don't mind I added you to our blog list if you want an invite to ours e-mail me at fullmercarly@hotmail.com
Love-
Carly

I can't find your e-mail address! I hope you get this. :)

We are so close to the end of the school year! I can't wait. I have 10 days left and Chad has 9. Our last day is my birthday! I'm kind of bummed about that, but that's okay.

Chad is at "Dine with Danny" right now up in Milwaukee. The guy loves Danny Gokey! It was a charity banquet and he went with Pam DeVos and a new teacher at Bannockburn. I'm sure I'll have pictures to post when he gets back!!! :)
