Things that must go...

I try not to use my blog as a place to vent. But once in awhile I think about something I could do without that I must share. So about once a week, depending on life's crazy schedule I'm going to deliver my "thing that must go." Feel free to share your "thing that must go".

CONSTRUCTION season has begun in Chicago. I could now and forever live without traffic construction. I don't need it. It's amazing how it can take me 20 minutes to get somewhere, then when construction begins it can take double, no, TRIPLE the time it originally takes. What a waste of time!! I don't know about you, but when I've been at work 8 hours to 9 hours, I don't really feel like sitting in the car for another hour or hour and a half. The worst part is there is no escaping it. Construction MUST GO!

Thank you.

I second that road construction MUST go, every street I drive on is under construction and you never know if it will be closed or not!

it definitely is bad! i had to drive to mccormick the last 4 days (yes, i worked through the wkend and tried to get most sessions of conference in.. and i am dead tired now.)

it took me almost 2 hours sometimes... although annoying, wouldn't trade chicago for anything.

p.s. ck out my slc post.. we should at least try to do a hello.

Funny picture. I love that you found the humor in it!

Zach refuses to go to Chicago anymore because of the traffic. The last time we were there (Thanksgiving Week) it literally took us just under 4 hours to move 2 miles. There were 4 kids in the car and 4 very unhappy parents. It is and forever will be one of my yuckiest memories!

Are you gonna be buying or renting here? I ask because there is a basement apartment available in my ward- 2 bedrooms. Let me know what you guys are doing for SLC-living plans.

I was blog surfing and came across your cute blog from my new "blogging friend" you sister, Amanda...we lived in Chi-town for 4 years as well while my husband was in med school and thankfully we matched for his residency in pediatrics back in our home town in AZ. We used to say there were two seasons in Chicago: Winter and Construction.

So excited for you to begin a new chapter in your lives...it is a long journey...but hopefully worth it all. Steve finishes up in July and we cannot wait. He already has a job lined up and waiting for him and the light is actually shinning bright at the end of the tunnel...almost there!

email me and I'll send you a permission to my blog courtneymilius@hotmail.com...so fun to find someone from chicago (a city we LOVED when we lived there) and someone who is living just a step behind us in the medical career journey!

i just hate driving anywhere if it going to take me longer than 10 minutes, whether or not there is construction.

Don't forget your coming back to Utah, the land of construction!!

Yeah for the race, I'm so in over my head.

I am way behind in my commenting, but I agree that construction is a pain. I think the worst is when you are on a road trip. Remember when we drove to Yellowstone the long way?
Also, thanks for your kind blog to wish Kentla a happy birthday! It was thoughtful and sweet.

welcome to my life in LA...except it is not only during construction, it is 24/7, and 365 days a year!
