Mark it on your calendars!

One of the things that I love about being in Utah is watching runners. No matter what time of day, I always see a runner. It's inspiring to see so many people dedicated to fitness and their mental and physical well-being. One of my inspirations is my mom. I don't think I would enjoy running if it wasn't for my mom. She is the one who has helped me to enjoy the personal challenge of running races. This past week we did two races together, that runners in Utah need to take advantage of!

Over the weekend I went with the parents to Bryce Canyon for the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon. The course was absolutely breath-taking. It was our first year running this race and I think we are committed to running it again and again. It was well organized, the weather was perfect, and the course was fantastic. Be sure to sign up for it next July. You won't regret it!

My mom is so awesome! Look at her go! I always get emotional watching my mom finish her races. I'm such a nerd.

I'm glad to be back in Utah where I can run with my mom again.

My mom and I have run the Deseret News 10k for years. I always look forward to this race. It's fun to run along the parade route and a great way to start off the holiday. This year was especially great because one of my greatest friends ran it with me. My friend Megan is a super star. She totally rocked the race without doing much training! She pushed me the entire time. Thanks Megan for running it with us!

Be sure to sign up early for next year's races!
PS** Slight rip off: I was looking at my time for the 10k and it only gives the clock time, not the chip time. Megan and I finished 3 minutes faster according to our watches and garmin than the clock time! We started so far back in the beginning it took us close to 3 minutes just to get to the starting line. What's the point of wearing a chip on your shoe, if it's not going to accurately give you your time? I know I'm being a little OCD. Sorry I just had to vent.

I just wanted to let you know that Mike and I are running the Provo Canyon half marathon if you want to join us. It should be a fun, cool, easier, half marathon.

Gotta love those "Wynn" runner genes!!! You guys are amazing! It was great to say "see ya later" last night instead of "see ya at Christmas". I am soooooo glad you're home!

Ah! You are awesome!! I think it's so cool that your mom inspires you! You inspire me! I finished 5th in my age group at our local 5k on the 4th. I beat my time from April so I felt good about that! I'm running another 5k next weekend at our church: the Hog Jog! I like the idea of a July half marathon. Maybe I'll have to train next year and come visit you! :) You rock!

You are so inspiring...both of you! I'm so glad you took that pic of you two. Someday I really hope to run with { or behind} you two.

You rock. And I think it totally counts as a PR.

I am so impressed. You make running look fun and easy. Like it's NO big deal to run 10 miles. You know that would kill me, right? Maybe someday I will run a race with you (I better start training if I expect to keep up with you!).

How fun... I really wanted to do the Bryce Canyon race but was out of town(your mom told me about it:). And I have to vouch for you Mom- she is a champ!!! I ALWAYS seem to run into her running- she is so dedicated. How fun that you got to run both races with her. Lets for sure go running soon (and stop just saying it:)

Laura!
i am so happy to hear about the bryce canyon half... i've always wanted to do it, so I will for sure put it on my list. Oh yes, the des. news 10K is for sure the best and so much more fun than its counterpart, the hideous marathon..terrible course! I heard it was really hot though, this year.. true?? way to go with all the races.. i am impressed. How is the Utah life these days? are you happy to be back? Each time I take a peek at your blog I expect to see the Chicago Walkers title but keep forgetting you're not there. Crazy. Anyways, keep in touch! We'll have to go to lunch or on a run when I come back for xmas..

take care!!
