March was a great month because for once Mike's rotation was a breeze. He didn't have to work on Saturdays and Sundays and even some Fridays. So Thursday night, when the weather was cold and rainy, and snow was in the forecast for Salt Lake that weekend we decided to go to St. George. I'm so glad we took advantage of a free weekend to get away.
Love going on road trips. This was taken while we were waiting in the drive through at a Subway in the middle of Utah. We were in the drive through for a good half hour, we had to pass the time somehow.
While in St. George we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. It seemed like a long time since we had seen the sun.
I had a nice little run down Snow Canyon.

We did some reading.

I have been to St. George a number of times but I had never been to Red Cliff Recreation Area. It was fun to do something NEW in St. George.

I love the desert. Red Cliffs was a hidden gem. The hike was easy, more like a stroll, but the scenery was fantastic. There were pools of water and streams all along the way. Have you been there before? Am I the only one who was in the dark about this place?

We also hiked around the Dixie Rock. This provided hours of entertainment. There were so many crevices and places to hike around. This was another place for me I had never been. I love having an adventurous husband who helps me try new things.

It was the perfect little get away for the weekend. We can't wait to go back sometime this summer.

you look so pretty, as always. and um, about that half marathon, well, um, you see, about that...
not happening. :)
Wow Laura, you found places down south that I';ve never even heard Grandpa talk about. We will have to go explore on our next trip down. I love finding new treasures. I know you've probably heard this 100 times but I hope you didn't come home from Mexico with the swine flu!!!
We did the Red Cliffs stroll/hike last time as well as the Dixie Rock ... we need to go down together!! Nick's grandparents live near the entrance to Snow Canyon so we spend a lot of time in Snow Canyon!!
We go to St. George all of the time and I have never heard of those places. Thanks for the tips.
I can't wait to see the Mexico pics.
Marc has an uncle, aunt and cousins in Logan, so someday we will make a road trip out there. I am adding this to my list of things to do.
love st. jorge and zions. (lol) oh how i wish i could escape there. i am glad that you two are going on adventures!!
Awesome pictures!!!!!!!!!! And you say we go to cool places! :)
Those are the favorite places for the "day dates" here in Southern Utah. Danielle has done them many times and still loves them every time she goes. Shhh...don't tell too many people about these places...you can still visit them and not be bothered by tourists. Glad you enjoyed the sun...one of the perks of living in Southern Utah, even Cedar City.
