When living in Chicago, we feel in love with Chicago style deep dish pizza. When someone came to visit we always took them to our favorite deep dish pizza restaurant. We even have a brother in-law who loved this pizza so much he would order it and have it shipped to him in Utah. We knew that would be one of the things we missed most about Chicago. Sad but true. Well, right here in Utah is a new restaurant called Sweet Home Chicago Pizzeria. It specializes in Chicago style deep dish pizza! WAHOO! Mike and I have already eaten there twice and we are so pleased because it actually tastes like our favorite deep dish pizza in Chicago! You have got to try it.

Aw! That makes me so sad! We live in Chicago and love Chicago pizza. We make sure any visitors have pizza when there are here! Our favorites are The Silo in Lake Bluff and Lou Malnati's, which is all over. Yum!!! Think of us when you eat your Chicago pizza! We miss you!

Hey laura--- just noticed you are reading Long Way Gone- I just ploughed through it recently--- what do you think so far? I'd be interested to get your observation on it-- I loved learning about the history part of it, but on the other hand, it was pretty intense for my emotional shakiness right now.. blah! Glad you found a comparable, good pizza place- I have to say- when we move back to Utah (ever..?), I think i will be in serious withdrawl from all the abundant food choices we've been spoiled with in these big cities. Wait, then again, there is always cafe rio in utah:)Brings me peace.

I wish I would've read this post while I was in Utah! My family has always been big Litzas fans but this place definitely has me interested, we will have to try it next time!
ler, why haven't you taken me there yet? is it because you are nervous Grace will throw pizza in someone's face and then waste it? anyway, we are ready when you are, and i will be sure Grace is on her best behavior.

Laura, this is so funny! Giordanos was our fav in Chicago as well and the one thing we missed the most (well, next to our friends of course). We happened upon a pizza place here in AZ called Oreganos and they specialize in Chicago-style too...I can get my favorite spinach stuffed pizza and it is just as divine! Glad you found a suitable substitute as well!
