Enough already. Let's get to the report shall we?
First: "Embrace being 28"
The month began with my birthday and it was great. I can't thank all of you enough for your kind birthday wishes. I enjoyed Costco pizza for lunch with Katherine, The Dodo for dinner with Emily and chocolate donuts for dessert with Mike. Mike was working all day and didn't get home until 9:30 p.m. so my sweet sisters stepped up to the plate to make my day extra special. And even after a long, horrible, day (it truly was a horrible day for Mike at work) my darling husband came home sent me downstairs and turned our living room into a romantic setting for a little dessert and birthday celebration. Love how selfless that boy is. Job well done raising him Steve and Carol!
Second: Running two 10ks
I ran the Swiss Days 10k and got a PR (personal record). Still not fast compared to my runner friends but I was so proud of myself. After finishing my first run after having Charlotte I never thought I would be back to where I was with my running. I'm happy to report that I feel like my old runner self. Phew.
I also ran the dirty dash which was a blast. I think you should all do it with my next year!
Third: Sewing
I made a little dress for Charlotte. I tried some news things. For the first time I sewed a zipper into something and used lining. I learned a few things: zippers are tricky to get just right, lining is not fun to sew with, and I'm not a perfectionist when it comes to sewing (everything else in my life yes, just not with sewing). I also made a few stuffed toys for C. I've decided I like sewing crafts rather than clothing. I'll have to post pictures sometime. I'm just too lazy to do it right now.
Fourth: Taking Charlotte to see the fall leaves
One lovely Sunday afternoon, our little family went to Silver lake and walked around. Honestly the fall colors were a little disappointing but it was still wonderful to be in the fresh mountain air together as a family. Love Utah.
Your turn:
How was your September?
What do you love about fall?
How long did it take you to feel like yourself after having kids?
Did you sew anything for National Sewing month?
Have you taken advantage of the fall colors this year?
Tell me everything.
