Sticky Rice

A few thoughts for a Tuesday night:

Whoever thought it was a good idea to give Charlotte sticky rice for dinner was
DEAD WRONG.
(And the mom of the year award goes to...yeah that wouldn't be me.)
Poor quality due to using the camera on my phone

It got everywhere, and when I say everywhere I mean
up under her chin stuck in the folds,
behind her ears,
and we even found some when we took her diaper off for a tub.

She did however LOVE IT and couldn't get enough of it.

For the first time in a long time I quit in the beginning of my run. I honestly don't mind the cold, if you dress properly it's not too bad and running in the cold can be quite refreshing. But when I layered up today and headed outside for a run, the wind was whipping me around all over the place with below freezing temps. I was over it. I lasted a mile and headed home. BOO. I did make up for it by riding our spin bike but I still felt a little disappointed in myself for just throwing in the towel. Cold is fine, wind SUCKS.

It's finally February! Hip, hip hooray. January is always a killer and although this January really wasn't bad this year it did seem to last forever. The closer we get to spring and warmer weather, THE BETTER!

On the up side I noticed tonight just after 6 p.m. the sun had still not completely set! The days are slowly but surly getting longer. YES!

Let's hear it:
Big Valentine's Plans?
Do you hate the wind as much as I do?
Counting down the days until spring?
Have you ever tried to get sticky rice out of hair?
Please share!

oh laura. i loathe and despise the wind and much to my disappointment colorado is SO WINDY. today we had temps of 0 and wind chill of -30. not even joking. i love it here except for when it blows and when it blows i would rather live in ... i don't know alaska?
anyway, charlotte per usual is A+ material. i'm so impressed you work out as much as you do.

The wind is a bugger here right now. Poor Marc is trying to clear the driveway with the snowplow and it's blowing back all over the place.
I am counting the days until spring. Maddy's birthday is the first day of spring, so appropriate for me, it's what I look forward to every winter.
That baby of yours is too, too cute. Rice is yummy! She might be ready for the bag of (dry) beans. Give her a few containers and let her go. All you have to do is sweep them up when you're done.

oh my gosh i can't believe you even tried to go outside yesterday! it was frigid with a capitol F times 1,000!!! you are such a die hard! i love the sticky rice picture. Yeah rice is one of those things that is such a mess, but the kiddies love it! i have found that cleaning it up (off the house not child) after it dries is much easier.

Sticky rice is one of my kids FAVORITES. We make stir-fry at least once a week around here and a bath is a must right after.

I am praying that I can have half the motivation you have to exercise in the next few weeks. This weight isn't going to fall off on its own.

All I can ever say when I read your blog is that I LOVE you. Look how cute your baby girl is! The wind here was nutty. I have videos to send you. Did I send them to you? I'll show you wind and what it does to snow lady!
Love u!

We've had crazy snow this week and wind! When all the snow came the wind was so strong we had snow inside the house and coming through any crack it could possibly find. It was crazy. You're awesome for even going out in cold weather, I can't do it.

I have some cute ideas for Valentine's this year...I just have to find time for them. Hopefully I'll get some sewing in! ;)

You are brave to even attempt the wind! I kept my freezing cold butt inside all week! But this morning I heard the birds chirping. It won't be long...:)

you might consider investing in a bulldog. carmen eats rice probably 5 days a week and newman cleans up the mess for me! :)
p.s. i want to squeeze charlottes cheeks. we might need to get together soon!
