We had a nice Easter holiday this year.
Our Easter started off with warm Easter rolls. My sister Mandy told me about this book that helps your family focus on the real meaning of Easter. In the book included this great idea to make rolls that are empty inside once you bake them, like Christ's tomb being empty on Easter morning. Although Charlotte was too small to understand the story and symbolism behind these rolls, it was still fun trying to explain it to her and this will be a new tradition carried on through the years.
The book had lots of other great ideas, I highly recommend it!
Easter afternoon, once Mike got home from working all night at the hospital, we headed over to the Walkers. They take the Easter egg hunt really serious. The kids get to hunt and find eggs then the adults compete to find the golden bunny and silver egg. It's always a bit competitive during the hunt, and definitely suspenseful. Those Walkers don't mess around. Well, Mike did our little family proud and found the golden bunny.
Well done Mike.
Charlotte got her first real experience with Easter this year. Last year she was too little to go around and get her own eggs, but after showing her that she needs to pick up the eggs and put them in her basket, she finally caught on by the end of the hunt. It was so much fun to watch her walk around and put the eggs in her basket. She's getting so big, it's crazy!
And of course Easter wouldn't be complete without the new Easter outfit. I must say she looked rather darling in her little purple dress and cream cardigan. Having a girl is such trouble. I could shop all day for her.
Although the egg hunts, Easter baskets, and new clothes are fun, it was really nice to take time to think about the resurrection of our Savior, and spend time with family. I especially loved watching this, this Easter.
Hope you had a lovely holiday!

How darling is that little poofy purple bum and those pigtails?? A big congrats to the golden bunny finder and the baker of the "empty" rolls--very cool idea.
I love it! So sad we missed all the fun!
Yes yes.. the roll analogy! A few peeps at church were talking about that- it's brilliant and paints such a great picture of the resurrection! Can't wait to do it next year.
those really are such fabulous pictures of Charlotte. I love her dress against the green grass. Pretty!!!!
Well done on the photo taking, Laura!
i've never heard of those rolls - what a cool idea. i am seriously loving charlottes hair - what a doll!
I just love you guys so much. You're family is so sweet. Those buns looks great! What a neat tradition but also so meaningful. I probably saved us lots of money having boys because i would buy too many girl outfits. It's equally hard shopping for boys though because there's just nothing to choose from! Happy Easter!
so fun! I love the golden bunny tradition! I will have to do that one:) and charlotte looks so cute and big! I LOVE her little piggy tails!
